...I think the idea of influence here takes place more generally through what is perceived and heard through the media—music and videos—but which eventually return to geographical appreciation in our process towards understanding these sounds and visual elements. However, I think what is more effective in these receptions resides in the surface level—what is understood immediately in the instant of becoming face to face with these images and upon hearing these sounds. I am not suggesting that there exists elements of ignorance or pointing to a generation ill-informed of what they are fed with through the media although it can easily argued and which is done elsewhere, rather, I am appealing to the means through which these identity-making and self-re-presentations are acquired.
