My Video of the Week - Blackwater's Youngest Victim

Youtube Video description - On September 16, 2007, employees of the military contractor Blackwater, USA opened fire and killed at least 14 Iraqis in the infamous Nisour Square massacre. The youngest victim was Nine-year-old Ali Kinani, who died from a gunshot wound to the head. In this exclusive interview, produced for Democracy Now by The Nation's Jeremy Scahill and Richard Rowley of Big Noise Films, Ali's father Mohammed talks about his son, the shootings, and his struggle to win some justice for his son. Two and a half years after the shootings, Mohammed may be the one man standing between Blackwater and total impunity.

Every now and then you come across things that makes you take a deep breath and reconsider your perspectives of the world in which you live in. This video is just a single element amongst an array of dissident and discontents towards US foreign policies and occupations, or so it seems. The ambiguity that imbues and inspire the correspondence between media and politics is an axiom worth knowing for the ordinary person. It is worth our time to deconstruct this relationship because it affects our opinions towards the world. Films such as the one above are made with objections and are aimed at evoking certain emotions on the viewer. You strip all the politics and complex weaves of artistic intentions in these kind of films and you're left with the most simple opinion - that this is a fucken evil world. Simple as that. Its obvious who the good guys are in the film - the US Army, while the bad guys are...you guessed it - Blackwater. Though their presence in Iraq is still accorded to the US Government, their actions aren't seen as in accordance with US opinions. Be that as it may, it always seems that U.S occupations and the countless evil shits they've done throughout its history as an empire are almost always accorded with private interest or interests outside the popular. Few men are responsible for the undoing of U.S integrity yet those 'scapegoats' always already escape their association with such evil shit....It kind of makes you wonder who really is in charge of this world..here's a quote I found by Gerald Heard, man if you ain't into your bible, think its a good time to start getting into it "Newton banished God from nature, Darwin banished Him from life, and now Freud has banished Him from His last stronghold, the soul"...
